Immigration Outlook — Global Immigration updates effective July 2026, offering an early look at key changes to help you prepare in advance.
🇦🇺 Australia: Employer-sponsored skilled visa salary thresholds will increase from 1 July 2026. The Core Skills Income Threshold will rise to AUD 79,499 and the Specialist Skills Income Threshold will rise to AUD 146,717, affecting new nominations under key employer-sponsored visa routes.
🇯🇵 Japan: Visa issuance fees will increase from 1 July 2026. Single-entry visa fees will rise to approximately JPY 15,000, while multiple-entry visa fees will rise to approximately JPY 30,000 for applications accepted at overseas diplomatic missions.
🇵🇱 Poland: From 1 July 2026, employers must obtain work permits for students from universities that are not included on the ministerial list, following the end of the transition period on 30 June 2026.
🇹🇭 Thailand: Temporary facilitation measures linked to the e-Work Permit system have been extended until 28 July 2026. Where technical issues prevent online submission, authorities may continue to accept manual work permit filings, provided evidence of the system issue is retained.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom: A new design pathway will be introduced under the Global Talent visa route from 1 July 2026, expanding the route to include additional design roles that are not currently catered for.
🇺🇸 United States: The July 2026 Visa Bulletin brings movement across several employment-based categories. EB-1 India will retrogress, EB-2 India and EB-5 unreserved India will remain unavailable for the rest of FY 2026, and further movement may be needed depending on demand and annual limits.
