Effective Oct 1st 2026, Japan announced that the revenue stamp fees upon visa renewal will increase.

Who will be affected?

This increase will apply to all applications submitted on or after October 1st 2026.

Background

The Japanese Immigration bureau decided this increase for visa renewals only, not new applications.

Impact

The revenue stamp amount will be based on the visa length granted: (3months to 5years: 10,000 to 75,000 JPY)
