WERC LATAM 26 event recap from Mexico City

Santa Fe joined Global Mobility professionals from across Latin America at WERC LATAM 26 in Mexico City, contributing to an important regional conversation about how organisations can translate global mobility strategies into effective solutions for employees and businesses operating across LATAM.

Held at the JW Marriott Hotel Mexico City Polanco on 24 August 2026, the event created a dedicated space for mobility leaders to examine the priorities shaping talent mobility across the region. Discussions explored changing workforce needs, compliance, programme costs, employee experience and the practical relationship between global strategy and local requirements.

Ernesto Colom, Managing Director Americas & Partners Relations at Santa Fe Relocation, joined the panel From Global Policy to Local Reality, which focused on designing and adapting Global Mobility for LATAM. Ernesto was joined by Pilar Rivera, GMS-T, Director of Client Strategy & Partnerships at LARM Group and Jose Francisco Martinez, Director of Global Assignments at Volkswagen Mexico. The session was moderated by Sofia Bentinck, GMS, CEO of Anchor Worldwide.

The panel examined how organisations can maintain a clear global direction while responding to the regulatory, cultural and operational realities of individual markets. For Global Mobility teams, this means understanding how policies work in practice, where local flexibility is needed and how service models can support the organisation and its employees across different locations.

Reflecting on the session, Ernesto said, “It was great to be part of a conversation with a truly LATAM-focused perspective, bringing together people who live, work and understand the realities of mobility across the region. Global Mobility strategies are important, but understanding how they translate into the local reality is what ultimately makes them successful.”

This local understanding is central to how Santa Fe supports clients across Latin America. Global policies provide structure and consistency, while effective delivery depends on detailed knowledge of each destination, its regulations and the experience of employees moving there. Bringing these elements together helps organisations make informed decisions, manage risk and create mobility programmes that work across diverse markets.

The interactive session gave participants an opportunity to compare approaches and share perspectives on policy design, regional delivery and employee experience. It also highlighted the value of bringing corporate mobility teams and service providers together to discuss the challenges affecting organisations and their employees across the region.

Ernesto continued, “A special thank you to LARM Group and Anchor Worldwide for inviting Santa Fe Relocation to be part of this panel and giving us the opportunity to contribute our perspective to such an important conversation.”

Events such as WERC LATAM strengthen the relationships and shared understanding that support successful mobility programmes. Direct discussions with clients, partners and other Global Mobility professionals help Santa Fe remain close to changing regional priorities and continue shaping services around the practical needs of organisations and their employees.

Ernesto added, “Thank you also to WERC for creating this dedicated space for LATAM, and to my fellow panellists and everyone who participated in such an open and engaging discussion. It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces and continue strengthening our mobility community across the region.”

Thank you to LARM Group and Anchor Worldwide for inviting Santa Fe to participate, to WERC for bringing the regional mobility community together and to everyone who contributed to the discussion. We look forward to continuing these conversations and helping clients turn their Global Mobility strategies into effective programmes and positive employee experiences across Latin America.
