Upcoming Global Immigration changes for August 2026

Global Immigration updates effective August 2026, offering an early look at key changes to help you prepare in advance.

🇬🇧 United Kingdom: Changes to the Immigration Rules will take effect from 3 August 2026. A child born in the UK during a parent’s current Graduate route permission will be able to apply as a dependant and receive permission in line with the parent. A new Diplomatic Visa Arrangement will also provide a simplified visitor visa process for eligible Indian diplomatic passport holders nominated by the Indian government.

🇳🇿 New Zealand: Changes to the Skilled Migrant Category will take effect from 24 August 2026. These include new Trades and Technician and Skilled Work Experience residence pathways, revised qualification evidence requirements and simplified wage threshold rules. Related wage-rule changes will also apply to the Work to Residence, Care Workforce Work to Residence and Transport Work to Residence visas.

🇺🇸 United States: The August 2026 Visa Bulletin confirms that EB-2 India and EB-5 unreserved India remain unavailable. Final action dates continue to apply to oversubscribed employment-based categories, including EB-1 China and India and EB-3 China, India and the Philippines.
