This is a great example of that spirit in action. In Singapore, Ruth Lockwood has been organising local community walks in her own time for clients, customers and members of the wider community. These walks give people the opportunity to explore different parts of Singapore, meet others and build confidence in a new environment through shared local experiences.
From the Rail Corridor to hidden local areas many relocating employees may never otherwise discover, these sessions help people feel more connected to the place they now call home. They also reflect something important about successful Global Mobility programmes. Relocation support does not end once somebody arrives. Feeling comfortable in a new country, understanding local culture and building social connection all play a major role in long-term assignment success and employee wellbeing. Local knowledge, cultural awareness and practical support all play an important role in helping people work, live and thrive in a new country.
